Ginny is responsible for overseeing the merchandising, buying, planning and distribution efforts of Payless, working across functions to help build and ensure a seamless execution of the company’s strategies and ideas. Ginny believes that it starts and ends with product, and she is passionate about getting the right product for the customer. As a leader, Ginny is committed to coaching her team to push themselves beyond their comfort levels to create a more forward-leaning and sales-driven organization with an effective balance between analysis and taking action. She is a results-driven leader with an uncompromising commitment to strong communication, collaboration and processes to achieve goals. Ginny is focused on curating the assortment with big ideas and a strong point of view.
Ginny has more than thirty years of merchant experience and has led successful teams at major national retailers. She has risen through the ranks, from buyer to executive vice president with direct responsibility for more than $3.5 billion in sales. Ginny’s breadth of roles at the senior level has gained her expertise in a broad spectrum of key categories.
Most recently, Ginny served as EVP/GMM – Women’s and Kids’ apparel for Macy’s Inc. where she had responsibility for Dresses, Suits, Coats, Swim, Juniors, Kids, and Intimate Apparel in 700 stores. By focusing on key items, assortment, core brands and trends, Ginny led her business to improved sales and margin performance. Ginny also held the role of EVP/General Planning Manager at Macy’s and built out a new consolidated planning team and processes to drive the recently merged company in New York City. Ginny has held GMM and DMM positions for Macy’s regional divisions in San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis and Atlanta, giving her an excellent background in regional trends and assortment.
